Gloomy Contemplation

Surrounded by people, yet alone. My only respite....the telephone. Longing for voices, having never heard. Hearing voices that could only unnerve. Day after day, they blend together. One's only hope, they don't go on forever. Pain and sorrow, that's what life brings. No three little birds melodies pure and sweet sings. Cast your lot and hope all is well. Pray that God doesn't send you to hell. Old and crippled, where all soon shall be. Better to die young, wrap your car around a tree.....

So my poems are not meant to be understood or dissected...I say what I feel at a certain time and place in my life. I can be cynical, realistic, misunderstood, happy, sad, or morose....all in a single moment of time.

so, in other words, we're screwed. I can't remember who originally said this, but..."cynicism is that despicable defect in vision which causes us to see the world as it is rather than as it should be." Ogden Nash or somebody like that. there is a certain release in this realization. but, like all shadows, 'meden agan'
