Gloomy

i'm not sure
if it's my emotions
or this day
that allowed me to see
everything colorless

daybreak arose
beneath a dismal canvas
no white puffs of clouds
no splashes of pink
to mark its rise

the trees stood there
colorless and bare
almost invisible
through a thick fog
as it rose
from tainted snow

everything blended the same
on this gray, hazy kind of day

i felt a feeling of despair
as i looked around
looking for color
yet everything
blended, the same

Gloomy indeed. In concerns with your fist section, for me, I think even a beautiful day can seem a little wan if our heart and mind is somewhere else (and perhaps our senses are just good at fooling us)... it grabs me the way you question that, "I'm not sure if it's my emotions or this day..." ... excellent again.

I do dislike days such as these. Hold onto that dull keepsake called hope. It will bring the sun again.

A vestige colorless demands the hues of our hearts to heat the day with the oils of the eyes sweet Sandra, I love the chill of your sensitive gloom...J.A.B.
