Glass House

Glass House I see you And I see me Reflected in your walls Impressed I am But cautious When the towering inferno falls For humans can be fickle And the height can make you dizzy Your eyebrows can be singed Your brain sent in a tizzy When the heat of fame and fortune Elevates your status higher Than humility of floor thirteen Where the smoke turns into fire People in glass houses Should be careful what they throw Reflect the sky. Stay grounded. Be the person in the know. Jinjagoliath @ The Oscars 28th March 2022

People on pedestals often fall off. Your 4th stanza is my favorite. That's a challenge for the super rich, I used to live in one of the wealthiest parts of the country, where people often shunned the poor. I rented a small home & lived pay check to paycheck. The population that helps homeless more are middle class, they have more empathy and understanding. You can tell your poem moved me! I'm glad I found it. It was very poignant.
