Giving away a small girl child Only eighteen months old, but then 'Twas better circumstances when The adoption papers soon filed The adoptive family could smile Biological father and brothers drinking men Giving away A small problem, Satan beguiled Lead them astray, but once again God had the child in His hand, Amen! Great that an unwanted child is allowed adoption by loving foster parents.

Gershon, Yes, so many things or situation prevail these days to interfere with the parent taking responsibility for their offsprings. Just experienced a sad situation. DFAC has placed the five children with two families and the mother is expecting another child possibly a boy. She just can't handle life at all so can't be expected to handle the bringing up of those soon to be six children. I am sure the two youngest children plus the baby will be adopted in time. Thanks for your understanding comment. Sara

All children deserve to be loved and care for, if not by their birth parents, then allow those that want the share their love with a child, recieve a child given. A touching poem, I've seen both good and bad outcomes in my life. Smiles ~ Blessings, Sara. Bill

Sara, Your poem contains excellent examples of imagery. It is a sad reality that foster children are abused on a daily basis, but it appears that this issue is not receiving the same level of attention as it formerly did.

In Hawai'i, we have had yet another case of foster child abuse. No wonder the youth of today have no respect for their elders! Aloha!

Yes, where there is a foster system there is always the possibility of abuse and neglect also in adoption situations as well. I can guess that there are multiple reasons for disrespect in our youth of today. I can start with the homes are not a place where respect is shown and not taught. Thanks for dropping by my page. Sara
