Give Up

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE TO GIVE UP?
DECIDE NOT TO TRY?
DECIDE TO HURT US-
WITH ALL YOUR LIES?

WE'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE-
THE HEARTACHES ALL TOO FAMILIAR
THE PAIN IS MORE THAN ENOUGH
AND NOW ALL I CAN DO IS ASK

WHY HAVE YOU GIVEN UP

DON'T YOU REMEMBER THE DAYS
WE STOOD BY YOUR SIDE?
REMINDED YOU TO CALL YOUR P.O.
SO THEY WOULDN'T TAKE YOU AWAY?
SO I WOULDN'T FEEL THIS PAIN?

HOW I TESTIFIED IN COURT
BEGGING THE JUDGE?
HOW I CRIED AND PLEADED FOR YOU TO COME HOME?

BUT YOU MANAGED TO DO IT YOURSELF.
TO BE THE SELFISH SON.
THE SELFISH BROTHER.
WE NEVER TAUGHT YOU TO BE.

ALL FOR WHAT?
ALL FOR WHO?

IT WAS ALL FOR YOU.
IT WAS ALWAYS ALL FOR YOU.

I TRY TO EXPLAIN WHY I CANT STAY-
WHY I CANT STAND FOR YOU TO LIVE THIS WAY.
BUT BEHIND GLAZED EYES
YOU DON'T HEAR A WORD I SAY.

YOU USED TO BE MY HERO
I USED TO LOOK UP TO YOU.
I'D LOOK UP
WITH A GRIN ON MY FACE
THINKING HOW GOOD IT WAS FOR YOU TO BE YOU.

BUT NOW MY RESPECTS HAVE DROPPED TO ZERO.
BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING
TO STAND UP FOR
WHEN THIS IS WHAT YOU CHOOSE.

NOW ALL I CAN DO IS WAIT
FOR YOU TO COME BACK-
NOT HOME.
NOT HERE.

I WANT YOU
TO COME BACK
TO WHO YOU WERE
WITH THAT STRENGTH YOU ONCE HAD
TO ALWAYS ENDURE.
