Give Me the Liberty

Give me the liberty to know
To utter and
To argue freely
According to my conscience
Such prerogatives and whims
A sinister force capable
of crushing me at will
Above all Liberties
Thus when the sun shines

But when night falls
so are my fears
That noble faculty of reason
Not given to me to rust unused......
