Give Me a Voice To Flicker

I like to tell my story,
                                   Painting my words with poetry.
Silent was my voice for so long,
At last I know where I belong.
                                   Please, don’t dim my light,
When it just started to flicker bright.
For so long I live in fear,
No voice that someone can hear.
Many nights I want to scream,
To wake up from this nightmares that were not dreams.
Using words to tell my story of abuse is my victory.

A genius I am not, I only learn how, now,
To express myself, because my words were kept in a sell,
                                 In a prison of hell.
These words I write, to you,
It makes me feel brand new.
With them I can paint my canvas,
And let the ink flows, in its rows.

All I want to do, to encourage others like me,
                              You can also be free.
No one can take away the power of your words,
It is yours and mine, so let us shine.
