Gimme Five

[First go at a poem in six lines contest]

A poem in six lines? That’s slick
I reckon I can do that trick
Oh wow, snakes alive
I wrote one in five
All hail the mighty limerick

[But what about that one spare line... well that one line is mine, all mine!]

Thanks Jan. I know we didn’t have to use six lines, but with a line going spare, why waste it? Glad you enjoyed. Terry.

I wonder how many people have no idea how tricky it can be to get a limerick right. They look so simple on the face of it don’t they? Thanks Lindsay. Terry

And so they will, but some of us are Mr Limerick and others are just posh! Seriously though, I’ve penned a couple of haiku but they don’t really gel in my mind because I have this unshakeable need to rhyme. Terry
