Gifts

Time, in equal proportions of 24 hour periods,
has been granted as a gift to all mankind and species.
In totality of amounts in our entire life, our gift of time varies,
and at times, we question the reasons why but manage acceptance.

Air or the oxygen we breathe in and out is another magnanimous gift
that is easily taken for granted, but without which life would not exist.
"We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out".* While here, we obtain many things as a result of returns upon our efforts and work. However, it has long been an accepted fact that the things we treasure most are the things we cannot buy, earn, or make. When we come to die, our accomplishments and achievments fade in the face of the things that we want most to be surrounded by. Family, Friends, Other Christians, God's Presence. Indeed, these are life's greatest gifts and treasures.

When born into this world, we are gifted with things never imagined upon leaving the haven of our mother's womb which we had come to know and treasure for months. Yet, such wonderful gifts awaited us without which we would not have survived. Things(Gifts) such as warmth, food, and shelter; coverings, smiles, and loving touches of love. Truely, life is all about 'The Giving'.

Amen to these gifts that are neither earned nor deserved. "... and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast". Congrats on your win ~ John
