Notes About The Poem

Gift of Love

Caressing the naked skin
Like whispers of joyous winds
Brilliant hues of silence
Murmur through the sun’s rays
Lifting aching hearts
Coloring thoughts in hope

Breathing lights across the senses
With gentle flickers of laughter
Growing brighter with each smile
Illuminating the nature of every heart
Warming faith in creative ways
Blessing kindness with wonderful aliveness

Gentling the passions that live within
Composing a melody in song and dance
Livening the gifts of inspiration
Singing a hymn of faithful dedication
To those who need the gifts granted
By a Creator who is strong and wise

Grooming the trees for the sighs
Leaves struggling to live and thrive
Washing the moments in amber promises
Wishes for grace that gives
Dreams of days of still harmony
Honoring the nature that believes

Adorning the integrity of those who grieve
With comfort and pleasure
Feelings welcoming the consoling
Who is a gift from the heavens
God’s comfort on the prayers and praises
Of those who need His merciful answers

Heartening the aches of those
Who know only darkness in their thoughts
And need desperately to see the light
That beckons from the stars so bright
Shimmers in the moon and sun
Reaches down to shine on a bleak world

In shadows and in hues
Of gladness and sweet truth
There is the resolution of faith
Quickening the knowledge of grace
That raises the spirit and soothes the soul
With a rich strength from the One who is love
