Ghostly(For John Lovingiii's Contest)

Sitting indoors
            during
               a
            rainstorm
Raindrops beating
our a rhythm on
the windows
      The lights go out!
Footsteps in
the hallway!
     Who's there?
In the shadows
       something is moving
In the shadows
         he awaits
         The door is opened
Our hearts beat fast
        Who's there?
Seems like our house is haunted
         Seems like this
night will never end
        The sound comes closer
And.............

Yikes!! Sounds scary to me. I like the pace of this poem--it fits with the words. Good way to end--kind of leaves the reader on the cliff. Thank you for stopping by with your kind comment on my haiku. Keep on writing. Karen
