Ghost On the Highway.

>>>>>>>>>A traveling sales man was driving home one night,
He was about six hours out of town.
A sign said ,there is a dinner just two miles up road,
So he had to use the washroom, and it would lighten up the load.

While i am stoped i might as well have a few before heading home.
He drank them down, paid his bill and left the diner on his own.
After driving for awhile, his eyes were getting hard to keep open.
His family was thinking he was on his way, or thats what they were hoping.

As he drove up a hill where it came to a bend in the road,
He hoped the car would make it there, for he carried a heavy load.
He pulled a cigerett from the pack and pushed the lighter in to heat,
As he pulled it out, it was hot and feel between his feet.

When he looked up again, there in the middle of the street,
Was a young girl waving her arms but could not move her feet.
He hit the brakes, tires were screaming, but he could not stop,
By the time he got to the side of the road, the tires were smoking hot.

He walked back to where the girl should be lying on the ground,
As he looked all around, she was no where to be found.
He looked up towards the heavens, theres a message here tonight,
Dont drink and drive, stay alive, help us keep up the fight.

Very powerful Alan, great message... I wish more would heed this. I felt like maybe the ghost he saw was a girl who had been killed by a drunk driver... great write here. Love how you delivered this. Love, Amy
