Ghetto

This large human ghetto, millions and millions enslaved, within stony walls of beliefs, man-made political doctrines, cultures and societal rules, God breathes in every body, but machines control breathing, nature is stamped, marketed, water is bought and sold! turn the wheels to earn your bread, shackled throughout life! by God’s permission, you may enter, by God’s will, you may leave, but have to live by human rules, in this stony walled ghetto! body yearns for freedom, heart screams for love, dehumanised in this ghetto, by the ruling demonic few! will no one smash these stony walls, liberate us from iron cuffs? rip and burn those ruling pages, that indoctrinate fear! let man be part of nature, as he is born to be!! let us create a future new world, where fear does not rule! where happiness is free for all, and laughter, love are taught in school!

Krish, your poem is too lovely leave without saying how good it is. Your easy to read verse implores us to simply treat each other well. Categorising folk in order to feel superior is a sad state. I agree, understanding our segment in nature is bolstering. I like how you threaded the ghetto theme throughout, reminds us that negative mental states make us poorer than poor.

Sigrid thanks. I am delighted to receive your lovely comments. The transience of life and the false pursuit of meaningless things is what appears to occupy most people. One has to learn to step out of this vortex of ignorance. Great to hear from you and learn your perspective of life.

Laughter and love, fine! As for 'back to Nature,' not for me --- although you are welcome to try! (Then again, I used to be a farmer. 'Nature' kind of smells bad at times; other times it cuts your heart out with storms, tornadoes, and whatnot. You know what I mean...? ). Thanks, Gershon

Thanks Caren! Glad you do and hope many more do! My sisters teach free for the many who cannot afford education. One of them has a double masters in education! We believe strongly in it!
