Getting Real

So sad, so true,
My silent feelings for you.

Can't speak, can't seek,
I hide when I am weak.

Tears well, heart fails,
Loveless life so frail.

Remembering laughter and joy,
Love is not a toy.

Memories and dreams,
Lost to silent screams.

I didn't know the truth
In my youth.

To learn too slow,
To fall down, to grow.

To feel,
It's hard to get real.

Lovely couplet, a joy to read, reality can be hard at times, well written, Roy.
