Getting Older
Getting older...
Where my knees wear out quicker than my shoes
Where my hair grows inward through my ears and nose
Where I bend my knees to touch my toes
Yet the brain tells the body "anything still goes".
Getting older...
Where my bones sound like the crack of a whip
The hormones scream "I don't want to dip"
Too much cycling has worn the hips
You dribble they coffee after a hot sip.
But getting older
You know the truth from the lies
The experience of life means you're now wise
You no longer need the old soul ties
Because you've experienced the Life of Christ.
