Getting a Call from the Faithful

One morning, as I was walking, I would say something that would change my life. What will occur is a random encounter with the person in the park. This person was playing music while the crowd gathered around them and cheered with each chart completion. All at once, they would see the phone call from a friend telling them they could only do a live performance for the recording studio if they had an extra person. They were excited to hear this news that the people around said, Wow, the person was sad once they had all left.
I walked up to the person and asked them why they were crying, and they had received good news. They told me that they and their friend had awaited a call from the studio to receive this opportunity. They would have to decline the opportunity as the extra person they needed for the group was not available. They proceeded to tell me that the person who we're not going to be in that group has been killed. The person who had been killed was one of the best friends who helped secure them that actual recording deal. It seems that the fans would have to give up their dream, as a recording studio wants to offer them the opportunity, but they still need that extra person for the group.
Talking to the guy, I asked him who he needed for this group. The guy responded that he needed someone who could play the trumpet and the sax, as these were the instruments their friend had played. I asked them who the friend was. They told me that the person was a young music student from the university who was at the top of the field within education.
I asked the man if I could play them some music to see if I could help them with the ordeal. At first, he was a little gobsmacked as to who would know that a musician would come to hear them in time of need. After playing a few chords and scales for them, they would introduce me to their leader. I met the group and realized that I knew the person who had died. That person has been one of my mentors. This is how I would become a jazz musician, living the jazzist life
