Gettin Old
How you know you're gettin old,
and there isn't any doubt!
It's when to start to go to bed,
at a time you once went out!
Aging brings on changes,
and remember this indeed!
Once you're over the "so called hill"
time begins to pick up speed!
I have a funny feelin,
and I'm not sure if it's real!
Seems like everybody's "whispering",
least that's how I feel!
I can't tell what they're sayin,
so I don't know if it's true!
I don't know what to answer!
Don't know what the heck to do!
Seems I've reached the "wonder" years!
Wonder where my glasses are?
Wonder where I left my phone,
or where I parked my car?
I'm now among those older folks,
the ones I once would see!
The ones I never, ever, thought,
that I would ever be!
I'm tryin to grow old "gracefully ",
as that old sayin goes!
How much longer I'll be around,
just the good Lord knows?
I've been old for quite some time
and what I've learned thus far,
is learnin never, ever stops,
despite how old you are!
So I'll make the best of the time I've left,
and I think that you'll agree,
whether I succeed or not,
is strictly up to me !
