Gentle Breeze

When in the mainland Tanzania I stood, My eyes lifted up to the mountains, And cast on the vast beautiful valleys; When I enjoyed the sweet smell of vanilla, While walking in the famous bamboo forest; When I saw the impala leaping majestically, And the zebra smiling to me in the park- When gracious birds sang their favorites, In the natural trees of Mount Mbeya; I gratefully thought I had seen it all. But when I visited the island of Zanzibar, I stood on the sand of the sea shore- My curious eyes cast on the waters, As a gentle breeze was softly blowing, To bring relief and take my exhaustion away. I saw the mighty water come tide after tide, And waves crush repeatedly on the beach; It was a real thrill to be out there! Oh how I thank God for His majestic creation! Yes for the hills and the green valleys, For the tiring mainland and relaxing island. God is the creator and sustainer of all things! He made them all; He’s a lover of the beautiful.
