Gentle Affections
GEMTLE AFFECTONS
In my fairy tale world of pure invention,
On the deep forest floor,
A cute little rodent darts, scurries, brushes
whiskers
And charms the soul unto gentle affection
More than affection, it’s wonder,
Wonder at the thought of safe haven
Where the hard, noisy giant has been shut out,
Where, midst universal turmoil, gentle affections
can softly settle
In this eye of wishful musing a rich soil is clean
One may wander barefoot, gaze bare faced,
With no lanes or lines of fear smoking
I would settle gentle affections on these deep
woods,
Go where children play, run barefoot, happy,
Without conflicting thought of life’s demanded
plan
