General Balance

enough coffee for today.
It's night and it's cold outside.
television has already done what it wanted.
filled our patience beyond limits.
in the fridge finished which is pretty good.
silence of the people in the streets, how great.
the phone ceased its annoying ringing.
I even wish there were crickets around here.
but it's a big city and the only sound comes from the cars
that still insist on dragging themselves along the asphalt.
but then the inner movement begins.
cursed brain that does not rest.
those quiet thoughts during the day,
now they come crashing down like avalanches.
I tell myself I'm tired of questioning.
I don't want to worry about certain things.
the new war, the bank balance, a defect in the washing machine.
I prefer to deal with these light subjects:
the infinity of time, the matter of shadows,
the confused weight of feelings
and the nature of the dreams that will follow.
good night.

Good one, Marco. There are so many things one could worry about, but I always think it a waste of energy when we, as individuals, can do absolutely nothing to solve the problems or change the course of events in our world!
