Notes About The Poem

Gazing

Gazing over the land
the verdant mist of becoming
moist with the dew of life
glistening in the yellow rose warmth.

Gazing over the land
golden stalks of being
heavy with the fruit of life
swaying in the red orange heat.

Gazing over the land
brown in the existence of past
punctured with needles of loss
drying as life diminishes.

Gazing over the land
black from life no longer
Slick from the rains of sorrow.
Shining as the mirror of future.

Gazing over the land
the verdant mist of becoming . . .

I love the alliteration that accompanies these sumptuous lines of imagery to deliver a mighty fine poem! It delivered feeling, as well - nicely done. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Thank you Caycay for your comment. The image is of my life on the farm as an allegory for life, amongst other experiences. -beto
