Gather Me

Your spreading sea
Across this Universe
We feel so vast-
Gather me
While gathering, my
Future and
My past-
Nowhere near
Is comforting
Nothing that can last
Another place
To ponder here
High upon my mast-

All the wishing
We have done
Horizons we have seen
All the breezes
We have blown
Creating waves supreme-
Spread for me
The wonders,
Wonders yet to come
Gather all the thunders
The storms have just begun-

Calm arrives eventually
Debris washed ashore
Gulls are screeching high above
The beaches of folklore-
Gather all my memories
Like tattoos on the skin
Imprints inked indelible
The Universe within-

I really like the metaphor of tattoos compared to imprints on the beaches of folklore, David. It's great to see you posting again. We missed you! Hope life is treating you well. Love, Carolyn
