Gasping For Air

I thought it’d take a mountain
A mountain moved and climbed
A thousand games of hide & seek
Before I’d ever find
The answer to the question
All-knowing, holy truth
Will I ever get over what happened
Will I ever stop loving you

It’s quite simple really
Too often overthought
By those who’ve loved
and those who’ve not
And those who wish they never had

There is no end,
Only evaporation

The love mists into false disappearance
But it is still there
Still lingering in every breath
For love is like oxygen
Fuel for the soul
Fuel for the body who will never be whole
Without their missing piece again

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
