Garden On the Verge of Spring

The wafting breeze of smell whispers into my ears guiding my eyes to the baby leaves of daisies springing up here and there on the circular green patch of grass holding with joy the glistening drops of dew While on the northern side adjoining the hedge Canada plums stretching their arms into blue sky coming down to embrace the raising whites of spring-flowering trees like the smiling colours of your handsome glowing face in the soft sun seated in the swimming wings of bees and butterflies while gathering honey looking at the buds yet to unfold the pink petals in well designed rows of the glowing garden of dark shades and bright light making love with the desirous rats peeping from the holes here and there as the hungry kite keeps gazing from the top of the tall oak tree smelling the happy blue and green wisp of smoke from the ovens of awareness of a warm life that caresses the garden inhaling orange sunlight holding a pencil before filling in the nudity A huge thank you to you my garden on the verge of spring For letting me taste the candy on your glossy lips ____________________________________________________________ February 23, 2019 For Gardens Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Chantelle Anne Cooke
