Notes About The Poem

Maze

Game Over

The shadows become deep wells
pooling in her mind, she screams
silently listening to the labyrinth
of unending time,
pathways leading to trapdoors of pain
and lightless infinities of endless infinities…

Is there an answer,
is there a question,
is there a reason,
is there a mathematical equation
whose sum is the whole of creation,
will I win the game at the end of the simulation?

Yes, yes and yes thrice over for the last stanza. The first stanza is whoa-hold on deep. I think it's one Strand himself would like as a 'stand alone.' Who knows?, or even why I thought/wrote that. Really enjoyed a moment here, reading this, in beautiful Washington, bet it's c c c c cold there today.

I am so pleased you liked the poem. Thankfully, so far this year Washington state has not been too cold. This morning it was 43 degrees. I think we are one of the few states that were missed by the horrible cold.
