Gallery of My Heart
Listen to poem:
in hindsight how trivial it seems
workaholic’s constant judging
the need to be in control
striving for lofty standards
of overpriced perfection
the wasted opportunities
to bond with family and friends
and forge lasting memories
missed and gone with the wind
no second chances or redos
time never more precious
life’s a series of new beginnings it’s said
of turning pages and starting over
so now’s come the time to focus on myself
to drop the act and renovate my inner home
where I’ll retire and spend my life what’s left
the time is now to gather and unclutter
decide what’s of value and truly will to treasure
no time like now to focus on the gallery of my heart
