Gaining Strength

You saved me from him,
Convinced me I had value,
Told me I was beautiful.
Now you are no better,
Malicious and cold.
You weaken me for power.
You hunger for control.

But I do have value
And I am beautiful.
You have no power over me,
You will not control me.
You are the only one
Who has something to lose.
