Future Past

They say that living in the past,
Is like looking way behind you,
To see the shadow that you cast,
As just something that can hide you...
Always looking back in retrospect,
Only gives you the illusion,
That your present state connects,
To the parts not in seclusion...
What allows us to look back,
Will allow us to move toward,
A point in time that surely lacked,
The momentum to move forward...
So you can finally leave behind,
The misconceptions of this fallacy,
As moments deep within your mind,
Take their place behind reality...
Behold the past as random thoughts,
Since we can never change it,
But once you glimpse the future sought,
You can finally re-arrange it...

Terrence, Congratualtions on a well constructed piece of poetry regarding time. Only 1 small spelling error you may wish to double check: "toward" vice "torward." Otherwise - nicely done. Terrell Martin
