Future

I was always told to expect you,
 you always showed up
sometimes I desire your presence sometimes I don't
sometimes you bring me joy sometimes pain

You work with time I never seem to understand
when I think am slow to achieve you just nod no, no, as you come
at the end you proof me wrong
time is always ripe and right you'd say to me

When the world think and say I've lost it and write me off
you just sit aside and laugh at them
I would sit cry and mope around because I don't understand and can't see
beyond now
you always whisper in the wind saying to those who care to listen
wait, for she is coming soon

wait fro time you'd always say
wait for me because they'll never understand
they are now, I am later
they are first, I am last
first is good but last is best
patience my dear, wait for me for I am the future no one see's, no one expects ,
no one ever understands, no one should ever underestimate

I may tarry but it's certain, I will show up,
 for I am the future
