Futterby

A monarch known as Flutterby
ruled her kingdom by being herself.
She encouraged others to do the same.

Visit every garden that suits your fancy
she told her subjects. Breakfast with me daily.
Forget your troubles in the land of flowers.

They lunched on marigolds and rose of Sharon.
They dined on zinnias and dainty lilacs.
Not overstaying their welcome.

They let their queen know their needs.
She was a fantastic monarch, showing them her colors.
Orange with black dots.

Flutterby, our most magnificent Monarch.

A delightful piece with beautiful imagery, Caren. I love how you named your monarch, Flutterby.
