FUNNY CORNER

THE CANDY-DATE KID-NAP

Young chap, Baby on knee.
hardly old enough to vote. Settle to nap,
Just out of mother's lap, and form dreaming.
knowledge of government still remote. Blasted! Jet fly, he up.

Must take the plunge sometime, though, Maybe now he
now is as good a time as any startle poo' chap.
to walk the straight and narrow, Cause warm feeling.
stand on one's own and be free. Bastard! Wet on my lap!

Here we go:
(moment's hesitation)
right before left.
Got it, good show!
……PERAMBULATION.

The ending made me laugh dear Pascal! Hahaha your sense of humor has a sort of bravery, which is refreshing to read! As I can never write like this! Well I wonder if today I would be more satisfied being a toddler or newborn, instead of seeing what we see today. They say, the best way to survive is to just smile through the confusion! Well thats what I shall do! I love a poem that can make me smile Pleasure reading Sending you light always

Since I cannot make you weep, I am happy to make you laugh. The best way to survive is to remain as you are, we would have you no other way, Empress.

Awwwn hahahaha this is such a humorous yet beautiful little piece, the scenarios of being with the little ones, their baby mischiefs and what not? Certainly the golden era though, I must say ~ I really loved the way you described those cute first steps, goofy and messy all around and the nap times that exhaust the cores lololol..but it's all so worth it.. also how cleverly you've first set up the candy date and then mentioned about the political scenes..ahhhh such contrast. Pleasure reading your words today and also its the first one I've read of yours I think! Brilliant work! Keep shining and writing, dear Pascal~ 💫💫✨✨

Hiya, Sharma, Thanks for visiting. Perhaps we share a simmilar humour because I was born in your mysterious country. Leading a busy life, scribbling the odd poem amongst other things and making an effort to leave a comment can become fatiguing at times. I have read some of your recent poetry but, must admit to my shame, I left no comments. I have returned to your poetry many times and find it serene and beutifully penned. Have a joyful day.

What a delightfully clever and humorous pair of poems! Your wordplay is absolutely fantastic, especially the dual meanings in "The Candy-Date" comparing a baby's first steps to entering the political arena. "Kid-Nap" is equally brilliant, perfectly capturing the relatable, funny, and slightly messy realities of resting with a little one. The punchlines in both pieces are timed to perfection. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful, lighthearted read!😂
