Funeral of Fireflies

In
our
childhood
catching the
small sparkling fireflies
in summer when dark, was pass time.
Catching and making them fly off was a good omen.
They would dance off tailing soft light, us imagining success embedded in future
It was quite disappointing to later learn that their sparkling magical glow was snuffed out in other seasons due to their short existence.
We stopped catching them, celebrated their short existence to let them find soulmates in their flickering glow, let them propagate legacy of summertime sparkle for us to cherish, honoring their impending funeral.

Awwnn .. yes.. when we realise that their flicker is only fleeting yet their magic is eternal.. filled with memories.. how gorgeous of a Fibonacci this is, dear Mohan.. I love the imagery you've painted with so much nostalgia and warmth ~ the innocence of childhood and the summer resplendence, i really like that line "let them find soulmates in their flickering glow, let them propagate legacy of summertime sparkle for us to cherish" you made their funeral something so sacred, very heartfelt and soul-touching! Congratulations on your placement in my contest, keep writinnnn and shininnn 🧚🍁🌙💫🍂

Hiya, thankyou for your appreciation and my placement. You are such a sensitive soul that catches the minutest of emotion and that reflects in your muse & your understanding of others' muse too. You are true to your name, as you explained to another fellow poet and in your muse 'I am that I am'. Best. Mohan.
