Funeral

I stood today
And watched them say
'Goodbye' to you.

So many tears
So much sorrow
For a life so full
Of fun and laughter.

You would not have wanted that
All you would have wanted from us
Was a few smiles and happy memories.

Maybe some day
When the pain is not so fresh
There will be smiles
And we'll remember when.

But for today
We will have to be content
With our tears.
