Fullness in emptiness
The day is busy with its many tasks,
I move through hours with a steady face.
I wear the simple things the moment asks,
and find my way with quiet sort of grace.
A hand is offered and a voice is kind,
I have the pulse of life within my reach.
But there is stillness deep within my mind,
a lesson that the shadows come to teach.
I see a rhythm in the rising sea,
that needs the open space to find its soul.
I wait for what the water brings to me,
before the heavy tides took their dark toll.
My heart is quiet in the love I hold,
and keeps a light against the winter cold.
