Fruitful Company

“I’ll be your friend in hell, until then
	I despise you.”
		-The Starting Line

they are always watching
from below
which is here
this fear

red-faced aggravation
with melancholy passiveness
they invite the tension

so I shake their hand
and accept their mocking stare
I do dare

I wish to break
from this collar
a comfortable relationship
lacking trust

just an occurrence
washed in vanity
keeping enemies close
displacing the self

with certainty
and calm

and with logic.
