Fruit For Dad's Labor
FRUIT FOR DAD’S LABOR
He did not get through school, I’m told, before he left eighth grade,
And yet there were some people he on life’s impression made.
I never thought I’d meet just one who made announcement clear
That my dad had a part in life that now had brought him here.
He told of many years ago when just a little boy
My dad, a clown then all dressed up, brought him a lot of joy.
Yes, this was fruit from labor then and now an outreach new
He shared with us a mission field that he had in clear view.
He wants to translate God’s clear word for nations far away
So they can know the Lord he found from my dad on that day.
Though dad’s been gone past twenty years, the fruit now multiples
To millions in “Ten Forty” zone who need to realize
That Jesus loves them, died, and lives to save their souls today,
And who knows yet what fruit may grow from labor spent that way!
Though Dad was criticized often by some, God saw the labor true,
And now he sees a mighty work through YOU, friend from the blue!
May God now greatly use you in this field to which you’re called
And fruit for labor give to you as you give Him your all!
Br. Dave Yoder shared this experience when he preached in our missions conference. I about fell out of my seat!
