Frozen Bill

Laid off, Unemployed, no pay
No funds to pay the electric bill
Service disconnected. Temperatures plumeting
As night sets, snow and ice fall silently apon the eaves,
entombing the house.
Silent night plays, somewhere...
while his body freezes and life ends.

O Doris how sad but a beautiful entry .. I was thinking about such things as my heater broke and for 3 days we had no heat at all until my landlord took care of it today .. we were all huddled together thinking how the homeless must feel every day of their lives and your poem has now captured my thoughts too.. great write and entry to the contest... thankxxx to everyone especially Sara for prayers... during these awfully cold temps.. and winds... blessings... luv... Linda-Marie..
