From the Stars What Do You See

When its dark outside and you look up at the stars,
do you ever wonder if someone is staring back at ours?
If you were looking down on Earth, while traveling through space,
would you want to come down and meet the human race?

Would you look at us and wonder why are we one-sided?
Why are we one race on one planet and divided?
Why do we kill in the name of religion or for our country?
Look down at us and see our potential of what we could be, of what we should be.

You could catch all the radio waves and listen in on our conversations.
Hear people for who they really are and see us push towards our own desolation.
The light from the atom bombs hasn't even left our galaxy, unlike our sanity.
Should they do us a favor and speed up our annihilation from our vanity?

What would you think if you saw us acting the way we do?
I would just look down in shame and pass on through.
