From the Old School

You’re from the old school When you go to work each day Striving to do the best you can Wanting to earn your pay You’re from the old school Whenever you sit down to eat And have the entire family there Each one is in his seat You’re from the old school When a cell phone’s just a phone No internet or playing games Not board to be alone You’re from the old school When you honor Mom and Dad Knowing how they love you Best friends you ever had You’re from the old school When there’s a parade in town Hand over heart when the anthem’s played Standing when the flag comes around You’re from the old school When you’re gentle and your kind You can speak what’s on your mind Without cursing all the time You’re from the old school Don’t you wish we all could be Believe in God and Country And keep America free

Fabulous! it reads like a Currier and Ives painting and bares the scent of patriotism! Thanks for sharing this!
