From the Night You Awake

When your eyes first open in the morn
Will they be puffy, still filled with sleep
Not wanting to wake, filled with dread
Or wide eyed ready for the day ahead.

It is a state of mind you make
The choice will always be yours
Put aside the moods of yesterday
Make way for joy to come today.

Each day a is new beginning
To embrace or throw it away
A decision only you can make
As from the night you awake.
