From the Inside

Minutes pass as hours in accordance to a lack of sleep,
a temporal delirium and the feeling that I’m not quite here.
I find it something short of remarkable; this state and their own,
sharing space in two separate worlds never meant to meet.
A thin line marks the space between this and the outside,
the collective reality from which I’ve chosen to retract.
