From the Edge of Sabotage

Love...
Love is a cut diamond
carved into intricate facets.
It has a thousands faces
and a thousand edges.

For every time your voice
eases my worries
and soothes my soul...
there is an edge nearby
that can hurt as much
as I feel loved.

For every time your eyes
look into my soul
I feel adored and important...
yet there is an edge nearby
that can make me feel inferior
as much as you make me feel loved.

For every time you hands
reach out to touch me...
I feel needed and wanted...
Yet nearby is an edge that says
you will not hold me
nor love me; but push me away.

For every facet on the face of love...
there is an edge to be found.
It is so easy to slip over the edge
and begin to fall into an abyss
where I fear I can not hold on...
Sometimes...
I need you to pull me back
from the edge of sabotage.
