From the Ashes I Rise

From ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
Seasons change as time passes
Once shining turned to rust

From brokenness to beauty, from lost to found
From the ashes the phoenix rises, soaring through the clouds
Breaking down walls forged of stone and steel
Created from chaos, the storm is real

Rain washes away all the messes I’ve made,
Searching far and wide, my dues are paid
Transcending limitations, I'm held back no more
I’m no longer afraid, I welcome the storm

From flying to falling
I’m crashing and burning
Finding strength through loss, I’ve had time to mourn
By being broken I’ve been reborn

Somewhere along the way I lost myself,
Like looking for that one book on the world’s biggest bookshelf
I kept overlooking what’s important
Like eve I got caught up in the word’s of the serpent

Like pages ripped from a book I’m torn
Delicate and dangerous like a roses thorns
Pieced together like patchwork
Rebuilding what’s been lost is an artwork

Without pain there’d be no progress
Without failure there’d be no success
the phoenix rising represents hope, growth and change
And growth is knowing when to turn the page

From charred remains comes resiliency
And strength from memories
Rise up from the ashes stronger than before
It’s time to become something more
