Notes About The Poem

From Lily's Womb

Sentinels were gathered upon the pond

dressed in their best green beau monde'

Waiting to herald the birth of first bloom

as twins were whelped from Lily's womb

I like this one, too, Lin. Here, we have orange day lilies growing wild in the fields. I'll bet you have them too.

I've only ever seen the pink ones, those flowers look tulip like and I am sure they are gorgeous when they open:-) hugs jan x

Thanks a bunch, Jan. I used to have a pond with beautiful lilies like these.
