From Glory To Dust-2

From glory to dust-2

F ragile humans flailing away at cataclysmic events, trying to
R ule the world without a clue, not knowing the way
O ut... Impressive they try to be, imposing their
M ediocrity in synchronicity with deceptive ideologies

G lamourously they present themselves as role models
L eaders of society, in the arts, and business moguls
O f the sports world, they excel high above the
R est of the competition, they are winners, never
Y ielding to doubt or fear, ever overconfident

T oo many times they reach the summit, the peak of power
O nly to find themselves crashing down into the mire of disgrace

D isillusionment will rule the hopeful mind and heart of the innocent
U ntil the day when they finally comprehend that humans on their own
S imply cannot control or manage the chaos that confronts this world
T ogether the impious and vainglorious rulers will return to the dust.

I'm beginning to wonder if we're long lost brothers, lol - we think a lot alike and see the world in much the same way, my friend ... and I just love everything you write. What an imaginative and powerful acrostic ... not a favorite form of mine because it's rarely done in an integral way, but this is awesome! Nicely done - a fav for sure.

Brothers from different mothers maybe? It must be a generational thing, who knows why two people agree on many things, that's why this website is so important, even ones who are not well known will find kinship here among like minded people. Thanks so much for your kind visits and great comments!

I heartily dislike imperialistic colonialist mentality super power ,world hegemony type people and this awesome poem debunks and dethrones such selfish power mongers superbly. Why the arrogance when we all return to dust down to earth'. Well said poet!. In great wording in freeverse style wow. So nice to Read from u again. And thanx soo much for Cmt.

Your descriptive use of the English language and your suburb proses are second to none. You have managed to capture human frailties and emotions and weave them into a poem that is easy to relate to, yet takes you to a deeper level of understanding. Emile.

I really enjoyed this acrostic. The message is very cool and so true. They often reach the apex only to fall off the other side in disgrace and shame. Nicely done John.
