From Desolate Waves, of a True Love's Death

From Desolate Waves, Of A True Love's Death

As poet I cry out, nobody hears
yes, deep ingrained apathy I fear
for no other sad darkness so repels
as does indifference born from Hell.

From desolate waves, of spitting grey mists
arrives those terrors from misery's lists
fiery flames set to burn a weeping soul
into heartache abyss, death's tragic toll!

As poet I cry out, so few may see
majesty in even a long dead tree
or beauty in finely woven dark verse
born from a pure truth one did not rehearse.

From desolate waves, of a true love's death
comes grief that illuminates gasping breath
followed by epic dark, its coldest chills
knowing never again, comes love's sweet thrills.

Thank you my friend. I sometimes have to fight this urge to give up composing new poems. Where that urge comes from I have no clue. But it gets stronger by the day.

Thank you my friend. I am truly in awe of your magnificent tribute made to Edgar Allen Poe in your newest poem and your note citing both Victor and myself as influences in your great new dark poem. The more the merrier I say when it comes to diving into the fertile and bountiful realm of dark poetry! Special thanks for the fav....

Can't be a poet and be indifferent, but can be a poet and experience indifference. A bit of helplessness felt in these lines that are so purely expressed.

Thank you my friend. A poet can only write and hope for the best. If one writes from the heart, from truth and from the concept that it is an act of giving--they can no go wrong.

A deep message in your poem, Robert..a powerful write, as always. I especially liked the entire third stanza:As poet I cry out, so few may see majesty in even a long dead tree or beauty in finely woven dark verse born from a pure truth one did not rehearse. A talented pen you have my friend.
