From Brown Eyes To Blue

From my brown eyes to yours of turquoise blue
I must express my deepest gratitude

On the street you might have appeared fearsome
A man with an axe my friend has become

At the door I’d scratched until my paws bled
Fearing my family soon would be dead

Just as the silk curtains started to blaze
You burst in and made your way through the haze

Four pups are alive because you’re so brave
I am so thankful my family was saved

I can but lick the wounds that you incurred
To show you how grateful my barks you heard
