From Afar

I spoke - you cried
And I know you hurt inside
Knowing it's all not right
But giving up for peace of mind

We loved - we love
Trapped together
The silk now so inanimate
Like strand upon strand of hardened healing

We pray - we sigh
And wish time would not hurt us
Curse our reasons for they are the demons
All the fake revelations and treasons seemed to change with the seasons

The heart the moon the soul the scars
They have all become ours
As we sit behind bars and gaze at our love
From afar ... From afar.
