From a Sleepless Night

...and I begin these thoughts
Again.
My mind’s a haunted place, 
Inhabited with ghosts; 
Phantoms that I, 
Myself, 
Conjured then be scared of.
Insecurity’s a beast 
That eats me like so much meat, 
While I waste away
From sickly lack of sleep; 
And this beast I feed
And nurse with fear
That I never
Ever
Measure up.
Then I begin these thoughts
Again...
