This is modified ghazal! In true ghazal the last but one word rhymes. It is easier to do that in Urdu but looks artificial in English. So taken the liberty of changing that rule but would still call it ghazal as the last rhyme word is repeated.
I can hear the frogs in the lily pond tonight, Amongst crickets and squally rain they sing tonight! I see ripples in lily pond in full moonlight, Must be a romantic union of frogs tonight! Lilies silently watch glowing amorous white, Like holding lunar candles in the depth of night! Many amphibian eyes twinkle, twinkle bright, White trousers speckled green is the dress code tonight! Lady frogs need to wear no lipstick to look right, Gentleman ready to dance if they spawn tonight! In glory of celebration not all is right, Lurking in the dark will be hungry snakes tonight! 1st placement Completely your choice(2) any theme and form Sponsor Brian strand Written 2/09/2020 This is a modified ghazal format.
